Hope creates the thoughts for a Tomorrow; No one wants despair not even in their darkest Hour! Hope gives you Visions beyond Existence even if only a glimmer, it offers what could be, what might
be possible for you or me...
I can't believe for one moment that each day should only be filled with mediocrity, the thought of that reality for me breeds apathy! I do however believe in the goodness of humanity. I think this song by Nico & Vinz from Norway when you listen to the words also breaths life in that Hope in their tomorrow; so they're my featured Artist on their Journey in the Quest for Artistic Purity as they write their script. Also after their video see their interviews learn of their reasons for being determined Artist.
In further boasting Hope I believe like me all creation wants the best of what they see. That best even on a bad day still fosters Hope, still offers a Better Possibility and in the words of EmilyDickinson one might as well "Dwell in the Possibilities!"
Hope is Good, Hope is God and Hope breeds a future that you have the pin to Write for a better Artistry a better Story of Your Life! You must #Alwaysbnit2win for You are your only Hope for a Better Today or Tomorrow! You only have one earthly life don't blow it on what could've been, focus instead on what will be. Pull yourself up when you awaken to a Morrow. Don't let your dawning of a new day be only because your body woke up and here you are again- no - know that you were made for a purpose and it isn't by accident that you still live today. And yes conversely I know that people have fallen around you in death, and that too is a reality to every human breathing but while you are yet alive fight mediocrity, write your script, your story the way you'd like it told of you. Every Journey is an evolving one so get at yours...
Let me know what keeps you getting up each day, what keeps you motivated to press on in your life's journey as you paint your Artistry thru the Hope of Your Script.
In love,
Always be in your life to win!

Journey of an Artist A Street Dancers Quest! Thru “Soul’s” Vision
Part #1 Taken from
the Series “Journey of an Artist - The Quest for Artistic Purity” By J.
Zuberi-Clark
This quest finds me looking in several haunts for the
expressions of Artistic Purity and it’s a great journey, but today I’m looking
through the glasses of a perfect pairing; Electronics “House” Music’s DJ-Composer & Music Producer Theo Parish and Professional Street Dancer“TheAnimator-Jade “Soul” Zuberi” It’s
funny how all the pieces are coming together on this Artistic journey as I’ve
been working on this for over a year
gathering photos, writing synopsis of how I want this series to flow- I’ve got
note books everywhere… I’ve seen this playing out and today all the pieces are
in perfect harmony. Theo and Jade “Soul”
are in London, England rehearsing for Theo’s upcoming 17-City 2014 European “Teddy’s
Get Down Tour” beginning June 28-July 20, 2014 with their first stop at Italy’s
“Dancity Festival” on Saturday June 28th with that festival being in
its 9th year located in Foligno, Italy. And as of the conclusion of my writing this
piece that “Dancity Festival” was a huge success with a standing Ovation for
these Artist! Their second stop is in Barcelona, Spain at its “Sala Apolo” on Monday
June 30th followed by the “Theatre Jot Eslava” in Madrid on Tuesday
July 1, 2014. By looking at Electronic
Music the Impact & versatility it offers its listeners along with those who
feel the Electric and many times magnetic pulsations of the beats supported by
its symphonic rhythms’ driving its force, you can’t help but see it being played
out in those who dance to its vibes, providing a perfect tango!
Using the word Musical Force from this duo would be to
minimize their impact on the Street Dance Culture. What I like most regarding electronic music
is that it holds open many foundational music principles for the Artist who
wake-up hearing music in all tones, who move about life on notes of
possibilities never being constrained by improbables and that’s what these two Artists
share with their audiences. Like Mozart those
creating and composing these types of music challenge the ear along with the
choreography that showcase its visual music magnification, in turn bending
notes and body parts providing pleasantries
that make us reflect what we feel thru the moves of our bodies- and “Soul” and
Theo most notably share this via Electronics music symphonies.
I personally can’t keep still when I hear the varied music
renderings given from Electronic and House Music, it resonates within me on
such a level that at times I look comical I’m sure if not really animated intertwining
newly learned moves into my antiquated traditional disciplines of Ballet and
Modern Dance. But watching my son “Soul”
now a YouTube sensation Internationally – wow how times have changed- “You
Tube” who would’ve thought this up back in my day but it’s surely welcomed as a
great way of showcasing and presenting ones talents ahead of them and not just
locally but Internationally for hire- Wow!
Well “Soul” takes through his animated moves the Symphonic &
Electronic music renderings to a completely different level that I’m in
constant awe of and not because he’s my son- oh no being a former Professional
Troupe Dancer and Instructor I’m probably a little more critical than most but
to his benefit. Oh Electronic music’s
influence on the Street Dance Culture is powerful so rather seeing “Soul” in
Battles, competitions or performing be it local, national or International or
even in Cyphers’- (Center floor Circles of “Come & Get it- Bring it On”
dance tests and taunts of your skills, although the dancers say playfully done
it’s seriously played out by those who dare to step to the center of the circle
showing what they have in Free Style or All Stylez dance moves of what today is
called “Street Dance” and not to be confused by Popular Music’s Social type
dance- no these house steps like “break dancing”, “House Style dancing quite similar
to Brazilian Martial Arts dance “Capoeira” a little Fred Astaire fancy foot work and
really then some of “whatever you feel” thrown out on the floor with “Purposed
Moves” if you dare to enter.) You really get mesmerized at the way “Soul” uses
the art of his body with Electronic music and if he uses Orchestrated music
renderings it’s even more powerful to watch him perform it’s as though each
muscle fiber has a note and you see it!
So when I see this new wave of technical Animation, Hip-Hop,
Waving, Break and House Dance I am a new fan at the way these young people and
many who are very mature envelop these moves utilizing really 30 years of a
strong collaboration and infusing of both House and Electronic Music that
speaks more to the Soul of dance. This
has created a different Hemisphere of music and dance, Electronic Music has
birthed an International appeal so that its music Aficionado’s such as Caribou,
Theo Parish, Ben UFO and Jessy Lanza have an even stronger format I believe continuously
thru appreciation from its ever evolving and increasing audience of young and
old who- be them moved as Spectators, Music Enthusiasts , Dancers, Battlers,
Cyphers, Judges or Artistic Purist to play and perform before who as a result
of them wanting to hear their music has set a new stage for these Dancers to
showcase their talents in front of the world.
For many of these Artist they get to showcase their
perfected crafts by way of the internet as I mentioned via YouTube, and even
Main Stream Television as was the case for “Soul” performing as one of the Top
Ten Guy Dancers competing his way from thousands of dancers all across America
to get on America’s Fox-TV Networks Reality Dance Show its 2013 Season-10 Series
“So You Think You Can Dance”, or On-line’s “World of Dance” promotional Road
Shows along with many movies from the Step Up film series endeavoring to
feature the Street Dance culture but to me Hollywood’s depiction of this
culture was more limited and narrow mindedly portrayed verses the real
International all ages appeal. They tend
to reference “Street Dance” culture as though it represents some Grimy, Back-Alley
and Skuz-Bucket animalistic natured dancers and yet it is the farthest thing
from the truth. These Artist many
representing the younger influences of Electronics musical impact is touching those
as young as six years of age- come to structured, organized competitions, and
workshops with their parents who learn to articulate very technical moves from
instructors like my son, and many more passionate professional Street Dancers
who teach within Dance Studios all across the world and then who get featured
at the end of the dance season at Recitals or who compete in many major
sponsored leveled Battles & Competitions.
So because of Artists’ continued quest for Artistic Purity it keeps the
torch not a candle lit for true music expression on all fronts!
I’m sorry I get pretty passionate as an Artist myself in
defense of these dancers and musicians as I remember not too long ago when
Electronic and House Music was coming on the scene and they were saying it
wasn’t really “real” music! And what
exactly is that-wow, Art is still Art and it covers so many hues so to say one
color is irrelevant over another is to like dismiss The Creator of the color
code in the first place and music in its art form is no different, how one
expresses it is all subjective and as a listener of music and an expresser of
music through my physicality my dance I’m the determiner of its impact and
power on my life, “it- is- in the ear of the beholder” and I am beholding
something great! I get to see this music
played out by Artists’ like “Soul” (follow him on FaceBook & Twitter
@Dance10Jade or Subscribe on YouTube @Jade Zuberi or follow his photography
& film work on FaceBook @ Soulvisionphotography/productions) thru his
artistic expressions be it dance, music- as he too is an Electronic music
composer, film or photography, it’s all realizing his quest in his daily journey
as an artist. So my hat goes off to
these Artists trailblazing through for recognition as Artist.
Along with “Soul” on his quest and also theirs as Street Dancers in Europe he
is accompanied by one of his House Dance Mentors “Poseidon- Gehrik Mohr (follow on FaceBook @Gehrik Mohr) and
two fellow Crew dancers from the “Sour Patch Dance Crew” Dominique
Sophie and Mai Le (follow on FaceBook @Sour Patch Dancer) they along with “Soul” are featured dance music/visual accompaniment along with Theo Parishes’ The Unit, Amp
Fiddler, Duminie Deporres, Mr. Mensah, Meyelle Maanzanza, & Ideeyah all
these together make up Theo Parishes Tour “Sound Signature” and a reason for
one to give ear and eye to Electronics musical impacts on its listeners and
dancing Artist. Also on Soul's (Jade Zuberi You Tube page) you'll find Theo Parish's new release "Footwork" from his 2014 Debut Album "Sound Signature" Featured Video with him and Gehrik Mohr a nice piece of work.
Electronic Music and Street Dance has revolutionized the
International bridge that really fosters brotherhood and commonality thru its
artistic expression just look at where this African American Artist Theo Parish
is going along with his multi-cultural ensemble of band and dance artist;
Italy, Spain, France, Amsterdam, Russia, London, Dublin and it impacts the
audiences of Japan, China, India, Australia and the African continent and even
more it’s amazing!. Young people all
around the world by way of the internet now have an opportunity to learn dance,
create, teach, perform and compete regardless to age and or gender just like in
music and have an audience that appreciates them for their contribution to the
Arts.
So “In the eyes and ears of the Beholder” I’ll continue on
my Journey of An Artist in the Quest for Artistic Purity.
Dance on…Move on and Listen In…. you might find something
you like.
